FD Global – Appointed Mentor for “Boosting Female Founders” Initiative

In 2019, FD Global Connections was invited by the Australian Federal Government’s Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, to participate in a workshop to identify initiatives to better support Australia’s female founders. Following a national roadshow to gather input, the Government produced their Consultation Report providing a summary of the outcomes, highlighting themes from participant responses, and the common challenges experienced by women engaging in innovative entrepreneurship and growing startups. In 2020, the “Boosting Female Founders” initiative was announced with grants available to Female Founders, totaling $18m.

One stream of work is connecting female founders to Mentors – those qualified and experienced business leaders keen to support the Government and female founders to achieve their business objectives. FD Global Connections was appointed a Mentor, and we are delighted to be supporting this critical, timely initiative.

Mentoring has been a regular feature of work – both voluntary and paid – at FD Global since commencing in 2014. More details about our “PowerPlay Program” and how business leaders can directly access our mentoring services can be found here.
